Fetterman has one of the worst attendance records in the Senate when he was not on leave, skipping nearly a hundred votes and countless committee hearings since April of 2024. Our Senator should be showing up, meeting with constituents, and fighting for Pennsylvania, not skipping the basic duties of his job.

  • Fetterman refuses to do his job. He has skipped a shocking number of votes, among the highest of any Senator from either party. He fails to attend meetings for the committees of which he is a member. He does not attend events in Pennsylvania to meet with constituents.

    • Fetterman has skipped nearly 100 Senate votes since April of 2024, including some on critical legislation or Trump nominees. [GovTrack]

    • From the start 2025 until May of 2025, Fetterman skipped 44 of 45 hearings or meetings for the committees of which he is a member. He only began attending after the skipped meetings were highlighted by a news article. [NBC News]

    • His official appearances in Pennsylvania have been just as sparse. From August of 2024 until May of 2025, Fetterman only appeared at a public event in Pennsylvania one time. [Philadelphia Inquirer]

    • Fetterman claimed that he has not held town halls with constituents, a basic part of the job, because he “does not want to be heckled by protestors.” [New York Times]

  • Fetterman has repeatedly complained in interviews and statements about having to do the basic job of a Senator.

    • According to the New York Times, Fetterman said he “has missed votes to spend more time at home with his children,” and he “seethes” over attending Monday votes. Fetterman rationalized his repeated skipped votes by saying that they are “overwhelmingly procedural.” [New York Times]

    • Fetterman complained about having to vote on the Republicans’ Big Beautiful Bill, which took healthcare coverage away from millions of people and raised healthcare costs for millions more. He lamented, “Oh my God, I just want to go home. I've already missed our entire trip to the beach.” [Politico]
